WAN Dings collects jokes and bell moments from the WAN Show. It’s an unofficial fan project.
The show, jokes, video, and audio come from The WAN Show, produced by Linus Media Group and published by Linus Tech Tips. WAN Dings collects clips and fan votes. Full episodes are on the official channels.
Clips are embedded from the original YouTube episodes, with timestamps and links to the full show. We don’t reupload the videos. Multiple rings for one joke count as one clip.
Each browser gets one active vote per clip. You can remove it any time. Counts represent browser votes, not individual people. No account is needed. Cloudflare checks for bots once per voting session, which lasts up to two hours. During that session, the bell rings on press; the saved message confirms the vote was recorded.
The weekly chart counts active votes first cast since Monday at 00:00 UTC. Removing and restoring a vote keeps its original week. Deleting its record or resetting the browser’s identity can reset that eligibility. All time counts every active vote.

PRIVACY
The site uses an anonymous, secure, HTTP-only cookie to remember votes from this browser. It lasts up to one year. It does not identify you by name. Clearing cookies or switching browsers can change which votes you can manage and reset weekly eligibility. There are no accounts or comments. Optional email subscriptions are separate from your anonymous votes.
Cloudflare hosts WAN Dings and stores the vote records associated with your anonymous browser identifier. The first vote in a session loads Cloudflare Turnstile bot verification. After a verified vote is saved, a separate secure, HTTP-only cookie remembers that check for up to two hours from verification, without extending on later votes. It is tied to this browser’s vote cookie. Short-lived network rate checks also help prevent abuse. Email signup also uses Turnstile and short-lived pseudonymous abuse checks.
Email alerts require your request and confirmation. Cloudflare stores subscription addresses, including pending requests; Resend sends confirmation and episode emails. Your email stays separate from votes and isn’t used for marketing. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours; scheduled cleanup removes unconfirmed addresses. Unsubscribing removes your address and cancels queued deliveries. An email already being sent may still arrive. Minimal anonymous delivery records remain to prevent duplicates. Scheduled cleanup removes hashed abuse-check records after two days. Cloudflare and Resend may retain operational data under their own policies.
Your ding-sound preference is saved only in this browser. The recorded desk-bell sound is preloaded from this site and played on your device. During a verified session it rings on press, even if saving later fails; the saved message and count confirm whether a vote was recorded.

The homepage automatically loads a muted, privacy-enhanced YouTube excerpt. If your browser requests reduced motion, it waits for you to press play instead. Collection clips load YouTube only when you press play. Posters are served by this site. Loading an embed shares request data with YouTube, including your network address and browser information. YouTube may process that data under its own policies. Opening an original episode also takes you to YouTube.
“Clear my votes” deletes this browser’s vote records and removes its vote and verification cookies. Loading the collection again creates a new anonymous cookie. Deleting these records resets their weekly eligibility. This cannot remove votes cast from other browsers or cookies you already cleared.
